Suriya to work on ‘Suriya 45’ before ‘Vaadivaasal’? Who is the director?

Actor Suriya, currently busy filming his 44th project directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is all set for the grand release of his magnum opus “Kanguva” on November 14. Fans were eagerly anticipating that Suriya would move on to his highly awaited collaboration with director Vetrimaaran for “Vaadivaasal” once “Suriya 44” wraps up.

However, exciting news has surfaced that Suriya plans to take on another film before “Vaadivaasal”. Due to Vetrimaaran’s need for extensive pre-production work, the shooting for “Vaadivaasal” is now expected to begin only in Summer 2025. In the meantime, Suriya is reportedly teaming up with actor-director RJ Balaji for his 45th film, tentatively titled “Suriya 45”.

An official announcement is awaited. Production houses Dream Warrior Pictures and Vels Films International are vying to bankroll the project, which is rumoured to have a massive budget of ?100 crores. Speculation is also rife that either AR Rahman or Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music for the film, with shooting set to begin in November 2024.

This unexpected collaboration has generated immense buzz, and fans are eager to see Suriya in this new venture with RJ Balaji, following the latter’s successful directorial hits “LKG” and “Mookuthi Amman”. Interestingly, RJ Balaji is also said to be preparing to make a “Mookuthi Amman” spin-off “Maasani Amman” starring Trisha.
