Suriya is one of the top guns of Tamil cinema whose market is also one of the highest among Tamil actors in the rest of India. Though Suriya debuted in films such as Vasanth's 'Poovellam Kettupaar' followed by Mani Ratnam's 'Nerukku Ner' his first big break came after starring in 'Nandhaa' directed by Bala.

Bala being the perfectionist extracted a riveting performance from Suriya and also gave him a memorable role in 'Pitha Magan' that had Vikram in the lead. Suriya after that acted in Bala's production in 'Mayaavi' and appeared as himself in the director's 'Avan Ivan'.

A few months back the announcement came that Suriya and Bala are reuniting once again that caused huge excitement among fans of both the charismatic celebrities. A major schedule of over a month for the film tentatively titled 'Suriya 41' happened in Kanyakumari and its surroundings including the Indian ocean.

Suriya who is producing the film under his banner 2D Entertainment planned to complete the entire film in one stretch and move to his other projects directed by Siruthai Siva, TJ Gnanavel and Vetrimaaran's 'Vaadivaasal'. However rumours started floating that Bala known for his perfectionism asked his cast including Suriya and heroine Krithi Shetty for several takes and completed only a few scenes. It is said that creative differences rose between Suriya and Bala and the former left the sets suddenly.

The 'Suriya 41' team had planned to shoot the next schedule in Goa but as of now it has been cancelled according to sources. Some reports even go to the extent of suggesting that the film is dropped. It is said that the dates will be split and allotted to Siruthai Siva and Gnanavel projects.

Sources close to the Suriya camp are suggesting that there is indeed a halt in the production of 'Suriya 41' but the film is not dropped. It is said that Bala will take time to rewrite the script and will take a few months and then resume the shooting. We have to wait for the official confirmation before jumping to any conclusion.
