Suresh Productions acquires remake rights of Simbu's 'Maanadu'

'Maanadu', which hit the screens in November in Tamil, stars Simbu as the hero. The remake rights of the science fiction action thriller have been acquired by Suresh Productions. The banner, run by D Suresh Babu, owns the remake rights in all languages.

The film's dubbing rights are also with SP. An announcement was made today. Since the story is quite commercial and there is a lot of scope to milk its premise and plot, the Telugu remake will be important. 'Maanadu' was released in Telugu as 'The Loop'. But it didn't get any traction for different reasons despite the content being strong. The Tamil version, however, was a hit.
Written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film has the villain's role by SJ Suryah. Kalyani Priyadarshan and others have done important roles. It will be interesting to see who will headline the Telugu remake.
Coming to Suresh Productions, it is waiting to release 3-4 movies directly on OTT in the coming months.
