A good news for Suresh Gopi fans, as notable scriptwriter Renji Panicker, has recently confirmed that a sequel to Lelam, a 1977 superhit of Suresh Gopi will soon make an entry in Mollywood. And as per information, the shooting for the film will start in April. His son Nithin Renji Panicker, who made his debut with the 2016 Mammootty starrer Kasaba, will be directing the movie.
At present Renji is in the process of giving the final touch of the script while the cast is also being finalised simultaneously. And as per rumour mills, Suresh Gopi’s son Gokul will also enact a vital role in the film.
Famous filmmaker Joshy was directed Lelam released back in 1997. Suresh Gopi’s fabulous performance has gained much popularity and attention and late actor Soman’s outstanding performance has added completeness for making the movie a commercial entertainer.
And in this Lelam sequel other notable actors, Nandini and Siddique are also expected to join to refurbish their roles. Renji Panicker and Josemon Simon will be producing the movie.
Earlier after Lelam, Renji-Joshy- Gopi trio brought out another action thriller Pathram. Revolving around print media and the politics surrounding it, this flick is best remembered for its stunning and sparkling dialogues.
