On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with 71 other ministers, formed a new central government under the BJP-led NDA alliance in New Delhi. Actor Suresh Gopi, who made history by becoming the first BJP MP from Kerala, took oath as the Minister of State in the Union Cabinet.
Meanwhile, reports surfaced claiming that Suresh Gopi requested to be relieved from his ministerial post due to prior film commitments, although he would continue serving as an MP. However, Gopi has taken to social media to dismiss these rumours with an official statement, which has since gone viral on the internet.
Suresh Gopi wrote, "A few media platforms are spreading the incorrect news that I am going to resign from the Council of Ministers of the Modi Government. This is grossly incorrect. Under the leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji we are committed to the development and prosperity of Kerala (sic)."
