After giving the Mollywood audience unlimited laughs all through the year for quite some time, Suraj Venjaramoodu has been acknowledged as the best in the comedy department by the State award jury.

Though there were many movies in which he has made exceptional performances, he was adjudged the best comedian for his act in Saji Surendran's ‘Ivar Vivahitharayal'. His senior competent in master joke-making, Jagathy Sreekumar was named for a special award for his performances and his contributions to various films of the year.

While M P Sukumaran Nair once again bagged a best second movie award for his ‘Ramayanam’, (the earlier being that for Aparahnam) cinematographer P Sukumar was named the best debut director for the movie ‘Swa Le’.

Baby Nivedita who acted in ‘Bhramaram' was named the best child artiste, while the awards for the best story writer went to Sasi Paravur for his ‘Kadaksham'.

Senior cinematographer K.G. Jayan's work in ‘Sufi Paranja Katha’, was named the best in cinematography. N Harikumar bagged the best sound recorder award for his work in ‘Pathaam Nilayile Theevandi’.
