Breaking! Supreme court clears way for TASMAC to reopen

The Supreme Court today stayed the Madras High Court order closing of all TASMAC wine shops opened in Tamil Nadu hearing the appeal of the Tamil Nadu government. The state owned liquor shops were closed down for the past two months following the coronavirus lockdown and started functioning on May 11th but social distancing was not followed as tipplers starved for two months went helter shelter to procure their drinks all over the state.
Many petitions including Kamal Haasan's were made to the Madras High Court which ordered the closure of the shops on May 13th and insisted that online and home delivery may be looked as alternatives. The TN government went for an appeal to the Supreme Court where it pleaded that there was no possibility of online sales right now.
The Supreme Court also passed another interim stay on the HIgh Court preventing it to hear any TASMAC related cases during the order period and also stayed the order that purchasers should possess copy of Aadhar card The highest court of the country observed that the state governments have the authority to determine which avenue they can use to sell liqour.
The liquor stores will now start functioning as early as tomorrow according to political analysts and it may be recalled that the two days the shops were opened fetched filled the TN coffers a sum of 300 Crores.
