After the suicide of Anita, students across Tamil Nadu have been conducting various forms of protest against the implementation of NEET, the national level common entrance test for medical college admission. Since the NEET has been made compulsory by the Supreme Court a petition was filed in the SC against the anti-NEET protests in the state.

Now the Apex court of the country has banned the anti-NEET protests in Tamil Nadu saying that such protests amounts to contempt of Court. The Judges also directed the State Government to ensure the maintenance of Law & Order in the state.

This ruling from the top judiciary of the country comes as a big blow to the anti-NEET protesters. and it is being criticised by civil rights and democratic activists.
