Recently, Baba Ramdev dissed the usefulness of Allopathy and modern doctors during a Yoga session. His remarks caused much uproar in no time. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has been vociferous in its criticism of the Yoga guru. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the IMA said that what Ramdev said tantamounts to a clear-cut case of sedition. Not stopping at this, the body even demanded that such persons should be booked immediately without any delay under the charges of sedition.
To make the matters worse, the IMA Uttarakhand sent a Rs 1000 Cr defamation notice to Ramdev.
The tirades against Ramdev, who definitely made highly objectionable and pseudo-scientific remarks, have resulted in polarization on social media. A lot of his sympathizers are alleging that a certain establishment, supported by the English-language media, is targeting Ramdev because he is promoting the Indian way of medicine and healthcare. They are of the firm opinion that there is a conspiracy to defame Ramdev once and for all.

Mahesh Vikram Hegde, who identifies himself as a Hindutva sympathizer, said that the IMA kept quiet when Christian Missionaries did "the drama of curing diseases like AIDS, cancer, and blindness but are now attacking a sadhu because he is popularising ancient Indian knowledge."
Several Netizens have opined that the same set of people who never questioned Mother Teresa's claims of performing miracle cures are after Ramdev.
Critics are countering these allegations by saying that the Hindutva versus pseudo-secularism debates are anybody. Ramdev's remarks were dangerous and they deserve unequivocal condemnation, they are arguing.
