Superstar's speech at Kochadaiiyaan audio launch

Yesterday the audio launch of Kochadiiyaan in Tamil and Telugu happened in a popular Cinema theater in Chennai. While making our way to the event we could see the busy roads surrounding the venue, thronged by thousands of fans waiting to have a glimpse of Superstar and other celebrities.
For those lucky fans sitting inside the venue it was 'Thalaivar worship day' and it started from the entry of Superstar Rajnikanth to grace the audio launch and turned back to wave his hands towards the fans before taking his seat.
It may be the audio and trailer launch of the film which without any doubt delighted the fans but the moment of the day began when Thalaivar started speaking. Fans were waiting for that for more than three hours, When Rajini came in front of the mike and it was as usual the last episode of the itinerary.
Thalaivar started his speech with his trademark verse to address his fans, Ennai Vaazhavaikkum deivangalaana Rasiga Perumakkale( Fans who are the Gods who make me live like this). The Superstar went on with how he got involved with Kochadiiyaan and ended with a piece of advice to his daughters who are two distinct filmmakers now.
Raja-Rani stories are always my favorites. I read a story only if it starts with 'oru oorula oru raja (a Kind of a city). I have acted in more than 150 films but I have never acted as a King. I have not acted in a folklore. I was yearning to act as a King in at least one film. That's why I started Rana. Rana's script was running in my mind for more than twenty years. But when we started the film. I could not do it due to health complications.
Even after the treatment was completed I could not take it up since my body needed rest. However Murali Manohar came to me and told me that director K.S.Ravikumar has written a script titled 'Kochadiiyaan' that will include the character of Rana. He requested me to just listen to the script.
I liked Kochadiiyaan script more than Rana. But I was hesitant to start with it owing to my health. Its Ravikumar who suggested that Soundharya who was working in the animation film 'Sultan' wishes to make Kochadiiyaan in Motion capture technology and if I am okay with that we can go ahead.
I do not know about this technology. I got to know about it from many people including A.R.Rahman who said making a film using this technology will take 5 to 6 years and it would cost 700 to 800 crores.
I was worried about the budget but they assured me that making Kochadiiyaan will not be that expensive.
Then I spoke with Soundharya whether she can carry this big responsibility. She expressed confidence that she can do it. Now the film is almost ready. 3D works are underway. I have watched the film. It has come out really well and I am 100% confident that audience will like it. This will be my return gift to the fans who have supported me so far.
But for A.R.Rahman's encouragement this film would not have been possible. I thank him for that.
I am very proud of my daughter Soudharya. Hats off to her. In fact when she was directing me for the first shot of the film I could not control my laughter when she called action. I had to ask the script writer Ravikumar to give the 'action' call.
Both of my daughters Aishwarya and Soundharya are married and they are achieving in Cinema. It is only because of the support from their husbands Dhanush and Ashwin. Their in laws treat them as their own daughters and encourage them. I thank them for that.
But I have a word for Soundharya and Aishwarya. They have to take care of their children. Women should give utmost importance to nurture their children than anything else. This is is my humble opinion. Only mothers can make good citizens to the country.
So I request my daughters to spend more time with their children at least until they complete 10, 12 years of age.
Soundharya will get many offers to direct after the release of Kochadiiyaan. My request to her is give birth to two children, give them to me and do whatever you wish.
