Most critics in Malluwood often complaint about the lack of good film stories as the major reason for the less number of good cinema these days. Good story writers are the most wanted persons in Malayalam cinema today.This could make a good reason for the entry of stars in the lead towards writing the stories for their films.

Recently Dileep was credited with the story of his recent film 'Pachakuthira'.The other top news is that Suresh Gopi is writing the story for his new film for Onam ,directed by Joshy. The other stars in Malluwood who had acheived commentable success in scripting are Jagadeesh, Sreenivasan, Venu Nagavally and Balachandramenon ,of which the last three has proved their success also in directing films.
