Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal, appealed to the people of Kannur to maintain calm in the wake of the political clashes in the district that have resulted in six deaths in the past three days.

Both Mammootty and Mohanlal urged the people of the riot affected Thalassery to stop any violent act based on politics and to return to have friendly talks, as they believe that every confrontation can be dealt with meaningful deliberations.

The super stars plans to pave a visit with a delegation to speak to the people of the riot affected parts, not to repeat the incidents, as soon as calm returns to Kannur. Violent clashes between the cadres of the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) started Wednesday and six deaths have been reported till today.
