Superstar Rajinikanth, who had just delivered a humongous blockbuster with his last Outing, the SciFi action thriller 2.0 directed by Shankar, is gearing up for his next, the big Pongal release Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

On the other hand, even before the release of the movie, there's buzz that his next movie which will be directed by AR Murugadoss, might begin rolling from February. It must be noted that it is still unclear whether this movie will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions of Sun pictures.

The movie, which is speculated to be a fantasy entertainer and rumoured to be titled "Narkali", might have either Anirudh or Harris Jayaraj composing music. Meanwhile, Petta, also starring Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Megha Akash and Bobby Simha, releases worldwide on January 10.
