As announced earlier, Superstar Rajinikanth has started the next round of meeting his fans in Chennai this morning(December 26). Starting from today the legendary actor will be meeting his fans from various districts till the last day of this year. The venue (Sri Raghavendra Kalayana Mandapam) of this meeting is being thronged by regional and national media persons as Rajinikanth is expected to make any sort of announcement about his long pending political entry.

Now believable sources say that the Superstar will make his final announcement on his political entry on the 31st of December that is on the last day of this stint of meeting his fans. It must be noted that on Sunday the actor met popular political think tank Tamizharuvi Manian and apparently discussed about the current state of politics in Tamil Nadu. 

Rajinikanth entering politics has been a long pending story. Back in 1995, the actor started vociferously opposing the then Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha and his support indeed played a vital role in the DMK's landslide victory in the 1996 assembly elections. Since then many of his fans as well as a section of common people have been expecting him to join politics and lead the state like the former Superstar M.G.Ramachandran. However Rajini, despite passing some hints about his interest in entering politics either through his films or his statements has not made any formal announcement about taking up politics. In 2005 he even went on to announce that he has decided to forgo his political ambitions. 

But after Narendra Modi coming all the way to Chennai to meet Rajinikanth during the campaign for the 2014 General Elections the speculations about Rajinikanth's political entry started floating again. The sudden demise of Jayalalitha has created a vacuum the state and this also has made people desperate for a change and many expect the Superstar to capitalize on this public mood against the ADMK and its arch rival DMK. 

In the recent months Rajinikanth had made some clear hints about his renewed interest to take a plunge into politics. Earlier this year, in a meeting with his fans he said that the "system has become corrupt' and asked his fans to be ready for the "war" which is seen as a clear hint to make them ready to work for electoral politics. Based on that it was speculated that the star will announce his political plans on his birthday which fell on December 12, 2017 but that also did not happen.

Now everyone who want Rajinikanth to lead the state are keeping their fingers crossed expecting a positive signal from the most charismatic star about his political entry. Will December 31 be an important day in this long journey of Rajinikanth and Tamil Nadu politics or will it pass out as just another day is in the hands of none other than the Superstar.
