Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures brought together Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the upcoming project, 'Thalaivar 171'. Loki already confirmed that the film is standalone and it will be experimental. The buzz in Tinsel Town is that it is going to be one of the biggest action films in Tamil cinema.

We already brought to you that rising star and Superstar's ardent fanboy Sivakarthikeyan is roped into the movie for an important role. It is said that the team is in talks with many more prominent stars to make this the biggest multistarrer. Meanwhile, the hot buzz is that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned down the offer to act in 'Thalaivar 171'.

According to Pinkvilla, Lokesh Kanagaraj approached King Khan to play a cameo role in Thalaivar 171. SRK responded, "I have immense respect on Superstar Rajinikanth, but I don't want to feature for Cameo roles now as I have already done many." Reportedly, Shah Rukh expressed his interest in doing a separate film with Lokesh Kanagaraj. This is now going viral.

However, reports tell us that the 'Thalaivar 171' makers are now in talks with Ranveer Singh to play the same role and it seems that the star actor is interested. We have to take it with a pinch of salt until the crew makes an official announcement. Also, it is said that big names like Mammootty, Prithviraj, Raghava Lawrence and Arun Vijay are considered for this film.
