Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures had a tremendous run at the box office after its release on August 10th. The film has become the highest grosser in Tamil cinema history collecting rupees six hundred and fifty crores worldwide.
Rajini plays a powerful supporting character in his next film 'Lal Salaam' directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth which is releasing by the year end. The 72 year old veteran was supposed to begin shooting his next 'Thalaivar 170' in mid September but it has reportedly been pushed to sometime in October.
Sources say that after the massive success of 'Jailer' Rajini wanted the film to be another pan Indian blockbuster and director T.J. Gnanavel and team have reportedly reworked the script.
Initially the story of 'Thalaivar 170' is said to have been based on fake police encounters and the Tuticorin shooting issue was at the core. However now Rajini's character will be taking on the education mafia and the screenplay will be racy like 'Sivaji The Boss'. Another interesting tidbit is that the thespian will be speaking Kanyakumari dialect.
Anirudh is scoring the music for 'Thalaivar 170' produced by Lyca Productions which has Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati in other important characters.
