Superstar Rajinikanth delivered 'Jailer' last week which is now emerging as a new industry hit at the box office. Meanwhile, he has completed filming for his extended cameo in his daughter Aishwarya's 'Lal Salaam'. The legendary actor went on a spiritual trip to the Himalayas last week after a hiatus.

Now, the latest hot update is that Rajinikanth is all set to work on his next, 'Thalaivar 170', with director TJ Gnanavel. As per the sources, he will be back in Chennai in no time. The shooting for Thalaivar 170 will commence regularly on September 15 in a grand set erected in Chennai. Amitabh Bachchan is said to playing the antagonist in the upcoming film.

Reportedly, the star cast will also have Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier and Sharwanand in important roles. The title is speculated to be 'Vettaiyan' and the story focuses on a retired cop who opposes encounter culture. We hear that Thalaivar 170 will be a quick project and it is bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Rajinikanth is in a new look for this flick.
