Veteran action hero finalized as villain for Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 170'?

Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 170' is ready to roll soon and super exciting updates are beginning to emerge. The film will be directed by T.J. Gnanavel of 'Jai Bhim' fame with Anirudh scoring the music and Lyca Productions bankrolling.
We broke the news earlier to you that Chiyaan Vikram was approached to play the chief antagonist in 'Thalaivar 170' and that Lyca owner Subaskaran himself got on the line and offerred a staggering rupees fifty crores remuneration. Now it looks like Vikram could not allot the dates and the team has zeroed in on an alternative.
According to reliable sources Action King Arjun has been approached and he has reportedly given his nod after listening to the script and his role. If the deal gets through then this will be the first time that Rajini and Arjun will be sharing screen space. Arjun is currently playing the villain for Vijay and 'Leo' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
It is also said that the plot of 'Thalaivar 170' revolves around a retired cop played by Rajini who fights against fake encounters of innocent people. It is suggested that the Superstar will be playing a down to earth character and the mass scenes will be in the action and screenplay.
