Superstar Rajinikanth Shares Some Interesting Details About ‘Padayappa’!

Actor Superstar Rajinikanth recently opened up, stating that the film ‘Padayappa,’ released in 1999, is very significant in his cinematic journey. Furthermore, he shared some interesting information about a potential sequel to the movie.

Speaking about the unforgettable villain character Neelambari, which was celebrated by fans in ‘Padayappa,’ Rajinikanth said:

“I thought actress Aishwarya Rai was the right person for the character of Neelambari. Since she was busy at the time, we pursued her dates for almost 3 to 4 months. We also tried through relatives. I had decided that if she liked the story, we could even wait for 2-3 years and then start the shoot. Later, when we learned that she was not interested, we dropped the effort.”

Regarding ‘Padayappa 2,’ as many of his other films are now being made into sequels, Rajinikanth gave fans a pleasant surprise:

“When sequels like ‘2.0’ and ‘Jailer 2’ are being made, I wondered why not ‘Padayappa 2.’ Neelambari left saying, ‘Even in my next birth, I won’t let you go without taking revenge.’ Hence, the title would be ‘Neelambari: Padayappa 2.’ The story discussions for it are currently underway in full swing. If the story turns out well, it will be a big festival for the fans.”

Even after so many years since the release of ‘Padayappa,’ Rajinikanth’s comment has generated huge anticipation and excitement among the fans. It is expected that if ‘Neelambari: Padayappa 2,’ centering on Neelambari’s revenge saga, is made, it will certainly be a grand creation for Tamil cinema.
