A few days ago, a person named Sundar Sekar Mishra, claiming to be the foster son of Mumbai don Haji Masthan had sent a letter to actor Rajinikanth threatening him of dire consequences if Haji Masthan is shown as a smuggler and underworld don in Rajinikanth's upcoming film directed by Dhanush.ALSO READ: Haji Masthan's son opposes Rajini-Ranjith film - details
This letter was sent based on news reports stating that the Superstar's much expected 161st film to be directed by Pa.Ranjith is based on the life of Haji Masthan.
Today, a clarification statement from Dhanush's Wunderbar Films banner which will be producing the film has categorically denied that the film has anything to do with Haji Masthan.
The statement also confirms that the film's story is completely fictional and it is not based on anyone's life history or any true events. Though the film is set in Mumbai it is not in anyway connected to Haji Masthan's life.
Ranjith has also stated in a media interaction that the film is not the story of Haji Masthan.
Hope this puts an end to the controversies and paves for the smooth commencement of 'Thalaivar 161' on May 28th as planned
