Superstar Rajinikanth's new movie 'Annaathe' released in record number of theaters in Tamil Nadu, rest of India and overseas as a grand Diwali treat for fans.  The mega flick directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by Sun Pictures is said to have garnered in excess of 217 Crores in just ten days beating negative reviews and rain threats.

Rajinikanth himself has been resting at his home after his sudden hospitalization on October 29th and subsequent Carotid Artery Revascularisation.  He has now posted a voice message in two parts on his daughter Soundarya's app Hoote heaping praise on 'Annaathe'.

Rajinikanth has stated that 'Annaathe' is a very important film in his career and he is on cloud nine with the way it shaped out.  He added that he loved Thala Ajith's 'Viswasam' and asked for something similar but Siruthai Siva's skillfully delievered much more.  He said that the story was narrated to him for two hours and he cried when he heard the climax.  The 70 year old one in a million star also added that he while working with him he found Siva to be a great human being.  

Rajini the highest paid actor in India has further stressed that families are thronging theaters showing 'Annaathe' and are celebrating the family sentiments.  The film has Rajini, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Khushbu, Meena, Soori, Pandiarajan, Livingstone, Prakash Raj, Sathyan, Sathish and Jagapathy Babu in the cast.
