Superstar Rajinikanth started the year by delivering the blockbuster hit 'Petta' directed by Karthik Subbaraj which reminded audiences of his mass commercial masala films of the 1980s. The veteran immediately moved on to 'Darbar' directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions which will complete shooting in early August.

We broke the news that Rajini loved Ajith's mega hit 'Viswasam' which locked horns with his 'Petta' at the box office and invited the director Siruthai Siva and listened to a story line. It has now come to light that the Rajini-Siva project a family based entertainer with mass elements is firming up and will go on floors in a couple of months.

Siva also has a project with Suriya produced by Studio Green K.E. Gnanavelraja which has been pushed to next year. Suriya has reportedly committed a quickie with Bala which will commence after the completion of 'Soorarai Pottru'.
