Superstar Rajinikanth's next movie 'Darbar' directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions is in hectic post-production and is slated for release on Pongal 2020. The legend will be teaming up with Siruthai Siva for a rural family drama 'Thalaivar 168' produced by Sun Pictures which could go on floors in early December this year.

We had broken the news to you a few weeks back that Rajini is all set to team up with Gautham Menon for a film after being impressed by the romantic cum action script. Now we have the additional info that Vels Films International is showing interest in producing the mega project and have started an initial round of talks in that direction. An official announcement is expected soon on an auspicious date and stay tuned for the same.

Ishari Ganesh of Vels Films International is already releasing GVM's 'Enai Noki Paayum Thotta' on November 29th and bankrolling the class directors 'Joshua', Suriya project and Anushka project as well. 'Thalaivar 169' will be the banner's fifth project with GVM.
