Superstar Rajinikanth is one of the most charismatic heroes in the world and apart from many other countries is very popular in Japan after his 'Muthu' released there in the nineties titled 'The Dancing Maharaja'. Over the years several thousand Japanese fans fly down to India to meet the demigod, especially for his birthday.
Now 'Muthu' aka 'The Dancing Maharaja' is re-releasing in Japan today and the trailer in which Thalaivar is seen speaking in Japanese has gone viral on the internet. The trailer highlights Rajini and Meena dancing for "Kuluvalile Muthu vanthallo" and "Thillana Thillana" and also the emotional moments. The 1995 blockbuster directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by K.Balachander's Kavithalaya has Rajini, Meena and Sarathbabu in the lead roles with A.R. Rahman scoring the music. Japanese trade analysts predict that after two decades the film still has the star power and nostalgic factor to become a huge hit once again in that country.
