Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' will be releasing on a grand scale in the state of Karnataka in over 250 screens. Producer Rockline Venkatesh has purchased the Karnataka distribution rights from 'Kabali' produced Kalaipuli.S. Thanu for a whopping Rs.10.5 crores,
Venkatesh has apparently sold the rights to another distributor who has again sold the film to distributors of seven territories. Lahari Music holds the rights of releasing the film in the Capital city, Bengaluru.
For the first time ever, Lahari music will be releasing the film in movie halls as well as four few Five star hotels across the city. The tickets have been priced at Rs.1,300 and Rs.1,400 and the package includes food and beverages. There will be four screenings per day on the first three day weekend and it will be extended to weekdays based on the response.
'Kabali' will be the first Indian film to be screened in star hotels along with theatricals and this may start a new trend. The distributor of 'Kabali' is planning to extend this scheme to big ticket Kannada films also.
Meanwhile, distributors of 'Kabali' across Karnataka are confident of getting back their investment thanks to the hype over the film. As there are no restrictions on ticket pricing like in Tamil Nadu, the tickets are being sold at double the rate of the usual price.
