Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' is all set to release on the 7th of June and almost all theaters in Tamil Nadu will be playing the film as the main attraction with special shows to accomadate the fans. There are problems for the film's smooth release as well as the Karnataka Film Chamber has refused to screen it due to Rajini's stand supporting Tamil Nadu in the Cauvery Management Board issue.
In another shocking turn of events a Mumbai based journalist has claimed that 'Kaala' is based on the life of his father Thiraviam Nadar who migrated from Tuticorin to Mumbai Dharavi and was held in high regards by the Tamils there who considered him as a godfather. According to the petitioner Jawahar his father was fondly called as Godwala Sait and he was also famous for his sugar and jaggery business which are allegedly referenced in the film. He has further claimed that his father never did any illegal business and also never instigated communal differences but the film portrays him as that.
Jawahar has demanded a written apology from Rajinikanth within 36 hours failing which he has threatened to procure a stay on the release of 'Kaala' and also a defamation compensation of Rupees hundred and one crores with his name figuring in the titles.
It may be recalled that a few months back another person claimed that 'Kaala' was based on the life of his father Haji Masthaan and made similar threats to Rajini, Dhanush and Pa. Ranjith but later the issue fizzled out.
