Today, Sun Pictures presented the highly anticipated trailer of 'Jailer,' Superstar Rajinikanth's 169th film directed by Nelson. The upcoming action comedy flick is expected to be a massive comeback for both Thalaivar and Nelson. The expectations are sky-high for Jailer and the movie is releasing on August 10.

Titled 'Jailer Showcase', the almost 3-minute-long video opens with Nelson's trademark action and comedy gimmicks. Then, we were shown Superstar Rajinikanth as a simple man living his life with his family, who thinks he is nothing more than a commoner. He turns out to be a powerful man with a menacing past. He unleashes his rage when his family lands in trouble with the baddies.

Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan play an old couple while Vasanth Ravi plays their son and Rithvik plays their grandson. The star cast also comprises Mohan Lal, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Vinayakan, Tamannah, Yogi Babu and others. Anirudh provides an enthralling background score in the showcase video, which is enhanced further by Vijay Karthik Kannan's graceful frames and Nirmal's phenomenal cuts.

The storyline of Jailer seems to be in the template of films like 'Baashha', 'John Wick' and 'Mr Nobody'. Rajinikanth's role reminds us 'Walter White' from 'Breaking Bad' in some places. Nevertheless, Jailer seems to be an action-packed multistarrer with ample moments to bring the theatre roofs down. The back shot of Thalaivar in a police costume as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian is a perfect goosebumps moment.
