Superstar Rajinikanth, a legacy in Indian cinema, is briskly shooting for his films at the age of 72. He will be next seen in his 169th movie, 'Jailer', an action thriller directed by Nelson. Produced by Sun Pictures, the makers are nearing the completion of the much-awaited film's shooting.

As per the latest reports, Rajinikanth is likely to shoot simultaneously for two of his upcoming projects. We all know that Thalaivar will be doing a cameo role in 'Lal Salaam' under his daughter Aishwarya's direction and he has his 170th film to be directed by TJ Gnanavel of 'Jai Bhim' fame. Both projects are bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

Sources tell us that the 'Endhiran' actor will start shooting for 'Thalaivar 170' with Gnanvel from the first week of May. He is said to be playing a retired Islam cop who protests against the encounter punishment. The film will be based on true incidents. On the other hand, he is expected to shoot for 'Lal Salaam' in Chennai and Mumbai. The preparations are going on.

We hear that Rajinikanth will be parallelly shooting for these movies after completing the shooting of 'Jailer'. Meanwhile, Thalaivar is expected to work with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a mega-actioner after these films. But according to an industry source, Superstar and Lokesh Kanagaraj will team up for 'Thalaivar 172' while the details of 'Thalaivar 171' are still kept under wraps.
