'Jailer' is Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming biggie with an ensemble star cast directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures. As per the recent reports, Thalaivar has completed shooting for his portions in the film but the makers are currently filming patchworks in Chennai.

The entire shooting is likely to be wrapped by this month. Meanwhile, sources now say that the team is planning a grand theatrical release for Jailer on August 10th, the Independence Day weekend. A few days ago, it was officially announced that Sivakarthikeyan's 'Maaveeran' is coming to cinemas on August 11th. Let's see if the two films clash at the box office.

Notably, Sivakarthikeyan is an ardent fan of Superstar Rajinikanth. It is worth mentioning that some reports also suggest that Jailer might be released in September mid marking the Vinayagar Chathurthi weekend. We have to wait for the official announcement from the production house to know the exact release date of 'Jailer'.

Superstar Rajinikanth is expected to play a retired jailer in the movie while Ramya Krishnan plays his wife. The action biggie also stars Mohanlal, Yogi Babu, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah, Jackie Shroff, Mirnaa, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan, Redin Kingsley, Jaffer Sadiq and many others.
