A few days ago, actor Mohanlal had unveiled his character Manickan in the much-awaited Malayalam film Odiyan. Undoubtedly, the actor’s new never-seen-before look had broken the internet.

While celebs and fans from all corners are singing praises for the actor's incredible transformation, the latest person to laud Mohanlal is none other than Superstar Rajinikanth. 'Odiyan' director Shrikumar Menon revealed that Rajinikanth called Mohanlal to congratulate him on his new look. He said that the Superstar gave Mohanlal a call to convey the same.

Mohanlal has lost about 18 kgs in about 2 months to play the younger version of Odiyan Manikyan in the film, which is slated for 2018 release. He achieved his fitness goal with the help of a team of 25 fitness experts from France. His workout routine also included high-intensity exercises. This is the first time, Mohanlal is undergoing a drastic makeover for a film. 

In the movie, Mohanlal plays the last surviving member of a tribal community called 'Odiyan' in Kerala. Mohanlal will be seen in the role of Manikyan, a man who is mastered in Odividya and will be featured in the age of 30 to 65 in multiple looks. 'Odiyan' will have Manju Warrier in the female lead along with Prakash Raj, Narain and many others in important roles.
