Superstar Rajinikanth received the  Icon of Golden Jubilee Award at the 50th International Film Festival of India at Goa.  The audience honoured the Thalaivar by giving him a standing ovation and he first spoke in Tamil with his signature "Yennai Vaazha vaikkum deivangalaana anbu rasigargale" and stated "I am extremely happy to receive the International Film Festival of India’s prestigious Icon of Golden Jubilee award. My heartfelt thanks to the Indian government for honoring me with this award. I dedicate this award to all my producers, directors and technicians who worked in my films. And above, I dedicate this award to all my fans and the people of Tamil Nadu. Thank you. Jai Hind,”.

Rajini's longtime friend an Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan was the chief guest and he bestowed praise on him saying "Rajini inspires us every day and every night".

Rajini once again displayed his humbleness by falling at the feet of the BIg B.  All in all the much loved evergreen megastar swayed both the celebs and the audiences in Goa.
