Rajinikanth extends helping hand to 'Baba' movie executive producer who is in poverty

It has been reported that Superstar Rajinikanth extended a helping hand to the executive producer of his 'Baba' movie who is not only in poverty but also extremely ill. Producer V.A. Durai recently gave interviews to YouTube channels seeking help from Rajinikanth citing that he is unable to meet his medical expenses.
It has been reported that Rajini got in touch with Durai over phone and has promised to take care of his medical expenses. Durai had already stated that Rajini paid him a remunration of rupees 51 lakhs after the completion of 'Baba' and that their friendship goes back to over forty years.
Durai has produced several films including Vijayakanth's 'Gajendra', Vikram - Surya's 'Pithamagan' directed by Bala, Sathyaraj's 'Ennama Kannu' 'Veveramana Aalu and 'Looty' , Karthik's 'Lovely' and 'Kagidha Kappal' starring Appu Kutty which released in the year 2016.
He recently revealed through a video that he is suffering due with severe diabetes and has no money even for treatment. He also revealed that his family has abandoned him and only a few old friends from the film industry are looking after him in a small house. Rajini's phone call is said to have given the veteran producer new energy.
Rajini is currently shooting for the final leg of 'Jailer' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures with Anirudh's music. In a few week's time he will join the sets of 'Lal Salaam' directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth and produced by Lyca Productions for which A.R. Rahman is scoring the music.
