Interesting information has surfaced that Superstar Rajinikanth also watches Tamil television serials and he has named his favorite amongst the current ones. The Thalaivar as he is fondly known as has been the ever shining superstar in Kollywood since the 80s till present day. A majority of his films have not only become some of the highest grossing ever in Indian cinema history but at the same time have also been memorable to fans of all generations.

His recently released film Annaathe garnered mixed reviews from critics and the public, but has collected more than a couple of hundred crores at the box office. Being such a busy action star its surprising that he has the time to watch serials but according to veteran director Thiruselvam the legend himself has let the secret out.

A close friend of director Thiruchelvath apparently met Rajinikanth while shooting for the upcoming biggie 'Jailer'. During a conversation Rajini had told the man that his family regularly watches 'Ethirneechal' on Sun TV and its not only their favorite but his too. Thiruselvam who is known for his serials dealing with women empowerment was obviously floored.

'Ethirneechal' has Madhumitha H, Kaniha, Priyadharshini Neelakandan and Haripriya Isai in the lead roles and is currently airing on Sun TV with high TRP ratings. The serial has been adapted in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi.
