A.P. Muthumani a hardcore Rajini fan is credited as the first person to start a fan club for the star forty five years back in Madurai district. Muthumani has been hospitalized at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai due to a severe lung infection and on hearing this Rajini gave him a call which has been shared by his official PR.

Muthumani has stated in the call that he was depressed for the past twenty days since getting treated in Madurai and then shifted to Chennai. But on hearing the voice of Rajini whom he considers to be his mother, father and god he feels better now.

Rajini assured his first fan that he would become alright soon and that he will definitely pray for his wellbeing. Later the Thalaivar also spoke to Muthumani's wife.
