The sixtieth year of Kamal Haasan in cinema was celebrated in a grand manner at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Sunday which may turn out to be a historical turning point in Tamil Nadu politics as well. Rajini the chief guest at the occasion spoke about how it was a miracle that Edappadi Pazhaniswamy became the chief minister and more so that his rule is continuing for two years in spite of critics predicting a fall. He also hinted that in the future there would be another miracle. Political analysts took it as Rajini was suggesting that he and Kamal would join hands in the 2021 assembly elections.
Kamal Haasan has stated to the press that for the good of Tamil Nadu he and his forty-four years friend Rajini would not hesitate to work together. Now Rajini too has echoed the same thought to presspersons at the Chennai airport. He was on his way to Goa where he would be receiving a lifetime achievement award at the international film festival.
Those who are in favor of an alternative to the two Dravidian parties DMK and ADMK see a Kamal-Rajini alliance as a formidable force and predict a significant wave of change in the future politics of the state.
