Superstar Rajinikanth the undisputed king of commercial Indian cinema has completed 47 years in the film industry. Celebrities and fans are celebrating the milestone on social media under the hash tag #47 Years of Rajinism.

Rajini first appeared in K. Balachander's 'Apoorva Raagangal' released on 15th August 1975. He played a small role in the Kamal Haasan, Srividya, Jayasudha and Poornam Viswanathan starrer. The rest as they say is history.

Soundarya Rajinikanth shared an adorable photo of Latha Rajinikanth presenting a boquet to her husband besides cakes ready to be cut to celebrate the 47 Years of Rajinism. The couple's youngest daughter captioned "Our lovely Jilluma .. Appa’s greatest fan and the superstar of our family."

Rajini is all set to join the sets of his new movie 'Jailer' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures from August 22nd onwards. The film has music by Anirudh with Shivarajkumar and Ramya Krishnan in important roles.
