Telugu cinema’s legendary Superstar Krishna Ghattamaneni passed away early this morning after suffering a cardiac arrest on November 14th. He is survived by son Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu and daughters Padmavathi, Manjula and Priyadarshini and grandchildren. His wife Indra Devi and eldest son Ramesh Babu passed away earlier this year. His secone wife actress Vijayanirmala passed away in 2019.
Though Krishna has acted in only one Tamil movie ‘Kanthaswamy’ starring Chiyaan Vikram he had a long association with Kollywood and was a close friend of the late legend Sivaji Ganesan. Most of Sivaji’s Telugu films were with Krishna.
Top Tamil actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Karthi, Simran and Radhika Sarathkumar were among the celebrites who condoled the passing away of Krishna. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin took to Twitter to post his message “Saddened by the passing away of veteran Telugu actor #SuperStarKrishnaGaru. He was a visionary who pioneered many innovations in Telugu Cinema. His demise is an irreparable loss to Indian Film Industry. I convey my heartfelt condolences to @urstrulyMahesh
& his family.”
