Director Shankar has earned the reputation of having a granduer vision and bringing it to life accurately for the past three decades. His films have stood the test of time and remain amongst the best ever in Tamil cinema.
Meanwhile Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu in his recent press interaction has stated an interesting episode he had with Shankar. He said "Once, I was having breakfast at a star hotel with my family. Two girls walked towards me and asked for an autograph. I politely refused, saying that it was my private time with family. This is when Meher Ramesh (director of 'Shadow', etc.) came to me and told me that the girls are the daughters of director Shankar. I was shocked. I went down to meet them and saw Shankar sitting across a table. I walked up to him and said sorry for refusing an autograph. The director told me (in a lighter vein) that his daughters should know how heroes are like," Mahesh said, adding that he was surprised to know that Shankar's daughters are so simple.
Mahesh Babu was considered for the lead role in 'Nanban' which later went to Thalapathy Vijay. The Prince has expressed his wish to act in his direction which may materialise in the future.
Mahesh Babu's upcoming film is ' 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' costarring Keerthy Suresh which is slated for release on May 12th, 2022. Shankar on the other hand is currently directing Ram Charan Teja and Kiara Advani in 'RC15' which is the 50th film of popular Telugu producer Dil Raju.
