‘Mamangam’ movie director M Padmakumar took to his Facebook page, to express his gratitude towards the health workers and state government after his son was discharged from hospital after COVID-19 treatment. The director's son had recently returned from Paris and was tested positive for COVID-19. He was getting treatment at the Kalamassery Medical College, Ernakulam. After completely curing the pandemic, he got discharged from the hospital last day.

“My son Akash and his colleague Eldho Mathew has been discharged from Kalamassery MC, after the treatment of COVID-19 successfully. Lots of thanks and love to the doctors, nurses and all other team workers who were dedicated to fight against the disease. And my love to the captain of the entire team out Honourable CM, Sri Pinarayi Vijayan, our health minister Smt. Shailaja teacher, our district collector S Suhas and all. This is not just an expression of gratitude, also my pride about my state, my government which is No 1 among the world for leading and caring their people very sincerely. A Big salute,” wrote M Padmakumar.
