At the grand audio launch of Vettaiyan - The Hunter, which took place in Chennai, Superstar Rajinikanth, who plays the lead role, expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the filmâs entire team. He especially thanked Lyca Productions, under Subaskaranâs leadership, for making the film a reality. The film, directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions, is set to release on October 10, 2024, during the Dussehra festival.
Speaking at the event, Rajinikanth praised Gnanavel, recalling how he was impressed with the directorâs work in Jai Bhim. "When my daughter Soundarya first brought Gnanavelâs story to me, I was intrigued by his unique style. I wanted him to make a film with me, but in his own way. The result is Vettaiyan â a project that feels very personal," said Rajinikanth. He also expressed excitement about working alongside Amitabh Bachchan, calling it a "professional and personal inspiration." Rajinikanth further highlighted the contributions of other talented actors, including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier, appreciating their incredible performances.
Rajinikanth expressed his confidence in Gnanavelâs future, wishing for him to reach even greater heights in his career, and remarked how Vettaiyan is shaping up to be an extraordinary project. He also conveyed his personal attachment to Lyca Productions, stating, "Lyca Productions feels like my own banner."
Amitabh Bachchan, who also stars in the film, shared his admiration for Rajinikanth, saying, "Iâve known Rajinikanth for many years, both professionally and personally. Acting alongside him in *Vettaiyan* is an honor. Rajini is a gift to all of us, and I am proud to be a part of this project."
Director TJ Gnanavel reflected on his journey, mentioning that after *Jai Bhim*, he didn't expect such a massive opportunity. He shared how Rajinikanth encouraged him to make the film in his unique style, rather than following commercial formulas. Gnanavel also thanked Lyca Productions and Subhaskaran for the creative freedom they provided, saying, "I learned life lessons from Rajinikanth and Amitabh, and Vettaiyan will exceed the expectations of the fans."
Music director Anirudh Ravichander expressed his excitement about composing for Vettaiyan, noting his admiration for Rajinikanth. "Itâs always a goosebumps moment when I work with Rajinikanth. He will be seen in a new and intense avatar in this film," said Anirudh.
Manju Warrier, who has previously starred in Tamil films like Asuran and Thunivu, shared her joy of working with such legendary actors. "Itâs been a dream come true to work alongside Rajini sir and Amitabh sir. The journey of Vettaiyan has been nothing short of extraordinary," she said.
The head of Lyca Productions spoke about the companyâs 10-year journey and expressed pride in collaborating with Rajinikanth and Gnanavel. He shared a special moment when Anirudh called him during the re-recording, expressing confidence in the filmâs success.
The event was graced by the filmâs core team, including cinematographer SR Kadir, editor K. Kadir, and other cast members like Abhirami, Ritika Singh, and Dusara Vijayan. Vettaiyan - The Hunter promises to be a high-octane entertainer, and with a stellar cast and crew, anticipation is soaring for its release on October 10.
