`Super Shastry' Kannada cinema lifted every frame from `Seema Shastry' Telugu cinema (released in November 2007 - starring Allari Naresh and Farzana directed by Nageshwara Reddy) offers nothing new. `Super Shastry' is not a good supper for the audience as many of the contents handled in the film are worn out already. The inter caste marriage is not an issue today. Even the traditional families have shown relaxation. The generosity is such that the film `Super Shastry' loses its relevance for the present day. The thing is that the Brahmin family is ready to adjust for Gowda community girl. But Gowda community is not ready for this match. The first half is a sheer waste and to come to the point lot of reels and lakhs of money is wasted. When the issue of marriage of Brahmin boy and Gowda community girl is not possible it is a sacrifice family people make for the love interest of Subramanya Shastry (Prajwal Devaraj) to get approval from parents of Soumya Gowda (Haripriya). When the disguise of members of Subramanya Shastry family surfaces it is bloody fight that engulf as one more rival of Suma Gowda family crops up. When Shastry the life of Soumya Gowda in the action and violence the moods of rival factions changes. Prajwal Devaraj and Haripriya look good on screen and they really make good pair - dancing and romancing. The hot temperament of Pallakki Radhakrishna is a strain to watch and dialogue delivery is like he is staging a theatre play. Kote Prabhakar, Umasri, Mugu Suresh, Tennis Krishna are OK. Deva in the music has given two tunes that are melodious duets for Prajwal and Haripriya. Cinematographer Kashi Vishwanath has not offered anything new. In the songs the editing pattern is quite OK. Not a film for your week end. Score - 4/10
