She is ruling the chartbursters currently with the latest version of "Laila Main Laila" from 'Raees'.... And here again, the hottie is going to add yet another feather to her cap.... Buzz is Sunny Leone will receive PETA's person of the year award for her dedication to promoting the rescue of homeless dogs and cats, as well as her compassion for animals abused and killed for their skin.
Earlier this year, the 35-year-old star featured in an ad campaign by the organization which encouraged people to "be an angel" and adopt a homeless dog.
An excited Sunny said, "Animals have been close to my heart for as long as I can remember. A great line that I read which stays with me is "I see humans , but I don't see humanity!" We should do what is right and humans are the only true voice that can help animals be free and loved. I feel very honoured that Peta India is giving me this award."
Talking about the association with PETA, Sunny went on further, "I believe as actors or celebrities it's not just about the voice speaking out but also about our actions as a people. This last year I spent a lot of time working with dogs that were burned alive, boiled, amputated, beaten and tortured. I hope that the love I gave made a huge difference in their rehabilitation and learning to trust again. Marc Ching at The Animal hope and wellness foundation opened my eyes to what is happening in parts of the world. Thank you Peta for allowing me to be one of your many voices and I plan to keep yelling out loud for animals to be safe!"
"Sunny Leone's kindness proves she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. PETA is calling on people everywhere to follow her compassionate example by adopting- and never buying-companion animals, and by eating healthy, plant-based meals that save animals every time we sit down to eat," said Sachin Bangera of PETA.
