Back in 2001, Sunny Deol shared screen with Ameesha Patel in Anil Sharma's 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' which turned out to be one of the most iconic films of his career. Now that the sequel of 'Gadar' is under production, makers have decided to re release the original in theatres once again. The lastest buzz suggests that 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' will release worldwide on June 15, two months ahead of its sequel.
A Zee Studios official told PTI, “As a lead up to part two of Gadar, Zee Studios plan to re-release part one in digitally restored format like how Avatar was re-released. The movie will release on the same date, which is June 15."
Director Anil Sharma stated, “I am happy people are interested in (watching) Gadar. Just like how Avatar and Baahubali were re-released, we too will do that with Gadar. We are in the process of planning things for the re-release of the movie."
Also starring the legendary Amrish Puri, 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' revolves around a couple who gets separated during the partition. The sequel will be reportedly set against the backdrop of 1971 Indo Pak war.
