Sunil's bodily metamorphosis

  • IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,January 05 2012]

By assiduously building the gym-boy physique and, hold your breath, the much-envied six pack abs (for his role in Poola Rangadu), Sunil has assumed a new high in the eyes of his audience. What comes to fore in this, is his passion and desire to present himself anew every time.

He began with the aim of becoming an actor, not a comedian. It was wholly accidental that he was offered a hilarious role in Nuuve Kavali by Trivikram Srinivas. Call it sheer luck or quirk of fate, offers came flooding in and Sunil did not take it long to become the most sought-after comedian after Brahmanandam.

In retrospect, it led to good. Some directors sensed his timing in sentimental scenes (read Manasantha Nuvve and Mass) and this is how he came to act in Andala Ramudu and, years later, in Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna.

Cut to 2012, the humble jester-hero is all set to stun you with six pack abs. He worked out and the result is a physique that could flabbergast you. The transformation from 'family pack' (he was so ridiculed in one too many films. Famously by Ali in Bujjigadu) to 'six pack' is an inspirational story.

Sunil is perhaps the only comedy-hero whose film is seeing one of the biggest releases (thanks to the backing of RR Movie Makers). When Poola Rangadu hits the marquee, he may well give Adhinayakudu a run for money. Who knows?
