Suniel to Akshay: Phir Hera Pheri

Co-stars in an Akshay Kumar film often cry foul. Not so long ago, Shahid Kapoor was left gaping in disbelief when his role was almost cut to that of a side-hero in ‘Deewane Hue Paagal’ while Akshay walked away with all the funny-lines. Suniel Shetty, too, for the umpteenth time has also been at the receiving end of Khiladi Kumar’s penchant for scissoring the roles of his co-stars on the editing table. According to the insiders, the usually amiable Shetty was crestfallen when he saw the first print of ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ where his role has been considerably chopped.

It all started at the end of the trial on 5th June where Suniel felt he had been betrayed by Akshay once again and voiced his feelings openly. Apparently, there was a heated argument between the two and choicest expletives were thrown at each other. Suniel was so furious that he vowed never to work with Akshay again. But Anna has made similar pledges before as well when he felt that his role in ‘Awaara Paagal Deewana’ was left half baked and mercilessly cut at Akshay’s behest. Within a week after making the announcement, he had gone ahead and signed Feroze Nadiadwala’s ‘Aan-Men at Work’. It is said that it was due to the rift between the two that the premiere of ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ that was supposed to be held on 8th June was called off.

Meanwhile producer Feroze Nadiadwala is jubilant about an e-mail that he has received from the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Science requesting him to send across the complete script and screenplay of ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ with dialogues for their library.
