Sundeep Kishan is perhaps the only Telugu hero in a long time to have secured two hits in one year in Tamil Nadu. Earlier this year, 'Maa Nagaram' ('Nagaram' in Telugu) was not only critically lauded but also was a BO hit. Latest, 'Maayavan' is on its way to become one.

Released on Thursday, the thriller has been directed by producer-turned-director CV Kumar and has Lavanya Tripathi as the female lead. Going by the all-round critical acclaim and the audiences' reaction, the film will go down as Sundeep's big Kollywood moment. It will be released in Telugu as well.

In November, Sundeep's tryst with Suseenthiran gave him a fairly praised 'C/o Surya'. Earlier in Telugu, he had 'Shamantakamani' and 'Nakshatram', the latter of which was a disaster but which nevertheless gave the talented actor an opportunity to work with Krishna Vamsi.

All in all, year 2018 has been a mixed experience for the hero.
