Sundara Pandian

Sasikumar can't be classified under one particular trade of Tamil cinema. He is an actor, director and producer, and is successful in all these three departments.

After his tough roles in 'Subramanyapuram', 'Nadodigal' and 'Poraali', Sasikumar is now playing a soft-romantic hero in his upcoming film 'Sundarapandian', directed by debutant Prabhakaran.

Interestingly, Prabhakaran is none other than an ex-associate of Sasikumar, and the latter is launching the directorial debut of the former, in his own production venture, that is, 'Sundarapandian'.

"For the first time, I am playing a romantic hero in this film," says Sasi with a smile. "Sundarapandian is a refreshing story and I enjoyed doing it," he adds.

Recalling a memorable incident on the sets of the film, he says, "On the day when my mentor Bala completed the shooting of his next venture Paradesi, he paid a surprise visit to Sundarapandian sets. We did not expect this. It was a pleasant surprise to all of us."

He adds: "Bala watched the way we were filming Sundarapandian. He predicted that the movie would take shape well and appreciated us. He spent a lot of time with us, discussing so many things."

On his part, Prabhakaran says, "The story is about a man who saves his ladylove from a tough situation. Sundarapandian has been narrated in a lively manner and Sasikumar's performance will be the film's highlight."

Mollywood fame Lakshmi Menon is making her debut in Kollywood with 'Sundarapandian', which has music by N R Raghunanthan. Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Inigo Prabhakaran and Thennavan are also there.

With 'Sundarapandian' getting ready to hit the screens, all eyes are on Sasikumar. And he will not disappoint, one can say, going by his past records.
