Director Sundar C has opened up about working with Simbu on a social media chat and has stated that the star is grown up baby.  He has explained that babies are always innocent, straightforward and have positive vibes all of the qualities that Simbu possesses.  Regarding STR's reputation for being a latecomer to shootings and other irregularities, Sundar C has asserted that he never faced even a single problem with his hero and in fact, he has only good things to say about him.

Simbu too responded in the same video that Sundar looked after him in every aspect and if only he had done films with him earlier he would definitely have built a more positive image for himself.  The duo are working together in 'Vantha Rajavaathan Varuven' the Tamil remake of the Telugu super hit 'Attarintikki Daredi'.  The film produced by Lyca Productions has in the cast Mahat Raghavendra, Catherine Tresa, Megha Akash, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu and Ramya Krishnan.  The team is aiming for a Pongal release in 2019.
