Sequels and continuing the story of a film for two or more parts has been catching up as a trend for the past few years and after the historical success of 'Baahubali' and 'Baahubali 2' more and more filmmakers and producers tend to make films in two or more parts.
A few weeks back it was confirmed that Silamabrasan's 'Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan' which was initially planned as a single film has now been converted as two parts.
Now the latest addition to the list will be director Sundar.C's 'Sangamithra'; touted to be India's costliest film. Sources reveal that 'Sangamithra' will be made as two films.
While the film will be officially launched in Cannes Film Festival to be held in France on May 18, 2017, the shooting of the first part is expected to begin in the month of July or August.
'Sangamithra' is being bankrolled by Thenandal Studios Limited. Jayam Ravi, Arya and Shruti Haasan have been cast in the lead roles. A.R.Rahman will be the music director of this prestigious project.
