Several Tamil cinema celebrities have contributed generously to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief fund to battle the coronavirus by not only improving medical aid but also recovering the economy. Earlier today Superstar Rajinikanth met CM M.K. Stalin and donated fifty lakhs while Chiyaan Vikram through online transfer contributed thirty lakh rupees.

Meanwhile, Kalanidhi Maran the head of the Sun Group of companies along with his wife Kaveri Maran called upon the chief minister at his home and made a massive donation of rupees ten crores to the battle against COVID 19 second wave.

Stalin's wife Durga Stalin was also present when the Maran's visited them. It is worth mentioning that apart from this donation the Sun Group a few days earlier released a statement reading ""Sun TV Network is donating a sum of Rs.30 crores to provide relief to those affected by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. This will be spent on several initiatives currently underway at various states of India including the following: 1. Donations to the various programs initiated by the Government of India and State governments 2. Partnering with NGOs that are providing oxygen cylinders, medicines etc,"

It was further added " The conglomerate will also leverage its resources including all its media assets to spread greater awareness of the COVID 19 pandemic among millions of our TV viewing audiences across India and the rest of the world,"
